It started with a broken clasp
Lumiere Havana began because a necklace gave way in the middle of an ordinary Tuesday. It was not cheap, and it still failed at the one part nobody photographs. That afternoon turned into a longer question: why is the finishing touch — the piece that completes an outfit — so often the part built with the least care? We set out to make jewelry where the unglamorous details are the ones we obsess over.
Chosen for month six, not day one
We work in stainless steel and copper with 18k gold PVD plating, freshwater pearl, and polished cellulose acetate. None of it is chosen because it photographs well. It is chosen because of how it behaves after half a year of real wear — through showers, gym bags, sea water and the bottom of a handbag.
The parts you only notice when they fail
Every clasp is opened and closed by hand before a piece is packed. Every edge is checked for burrs. Chains are weight-matched to their extenders so a piece hangs straight rather than twisting. Small, tedious checks — and the entire difference between something you wear once and something you reach for daily.
Quiet enough to wear twice in a week
We design for the rotation, not the single occasion. Pieces sized to layer without competing, finishes that read as considered rather than loud, shapes that work as easily at a desk as at dinner. The collection stays deliberately small — we would rather release four pieces we stand behind than forty we do not.
Made for skin that reacts
A large share of people cannot wear ordinary costume jewelry for more than a day. Nickel is usually the culprit. Our plated pieces are made to be hypoallergenic, and the reviews that mean the most to us are from customers who finally found something they can wear continuously without irritation.

Design and sampling happen in Havana. Fulfilment runs from the United States, so orders placed before 2 PM leave the same business day. Shipping is free on every order to every country — no thresholds, no surprise line at checkout. Every parcel goes out packed properly, with prices left off anything that might be a gift.
Fourteen days to change your mind
You cannot judge how a piece sits on you from a photograph, so returns are open for fourteen days, unworn and in its packaging. Beyond that, if a piece fails through normal wear inside twelve months, we repair, replace or refund it. We would rather absorb that cost than have you keep something that disappointed you.
Small enough that a person reads your email
